Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service donates PPE to Operation Florian

Operation Florian is thrilled to receive another generous donation of ex-service PPE from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS).

For 30 years, LFRS has been a steadfast supporter of Operation Florian, enabling us to aid emergency services worldwide. Their donations not only provide crucial equipment but also promote sustainability by recycling PPE that still has a viable service life. This practice reduces the carbon footprint, aligning with our shared commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.

This latest donation from LFRS enhances the safety of firefighters globally, equipping them with better protection as they serve their communities.

In addition to supporting firefighting efforts, we strive to assist local ambulance services that collaborate with the fire services we aid. The donation of longboards is a valuable contribution to this ongoing work.

Securing ex-service uniforms is another critical aspect of our mission. Basic items, such as shoes, which are readily available in the UK, are often challenging to obtain and fund in the overseas brigades we support. Therefore, donations of ex-service uniforms are vital. Many fire and rescue services across the UK contribute uniforms to Operation Florian, significantly impacting the projects we work on.

The need for our work has never been more urgent, given recent global challenges such as the financial recession and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you once again to Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for your continued support!
